I keep my sobriety prominent in my life

Sobriety is more than a lifestyle choice for me.  If I drink again, then there’s no guarantee that I could stop so keeping it alive is important.  I have a sobriety playlist, the songs that I listened to in the early days, on my way to and from meetings.  New songs that inspire me.  Social media keeps it fresh.  There are so many sober posts on Instagram these days, I don’t have to go far for constant reminders.   I talk about it, where I can do so in safety.  It doesn’t have to be out loud in public, it can be just in meetings.  It’s important that I give it air, put spoken words to my thinking, the supportive and the challenging.  My book collection is growing.  Stories of recovery and process, whatever it takes, whatever I need.   I pop onto a sobriety forum, contact a sober friend.

Each day reminding myself that this is who I am.
